Marocco

Morocco is the first African country I visited. But when I tell an African that I have been to Morocco, he immediately stops me and says that Morocco is not Africa. I kind of have to agree. Many features of Europe can be observed in Morocco, also because of the tourist especially Europe.

We spent a total of five days in Morocco and drove through three major cities. We landed in Marrakech, then took the train to Casablanca and the last stop was the capital Rabat.

Accommodation

We stayed in a beautiful hostel in Marrakech. Comfortable, clean and spacious rooms, airport pickup, a hearty breakfast that we lasted until the evening, super service. Plus a nice view of the Atlas mountains.

It was already worse in Casablanca. It was a nice hostel itself, big building, many rooms. But we had to change our room as we found some cockroaches or something in the beds :D

Marrakech

The nicest of the three cities. It was the most different from European cities and you could "feel" Africa the most - big market, typical buildings, heat, chaos, typical food, mosques, haggling....

I was most impressed by the huge square and market at the same time - Djemaa el-Fna. Thousands of people, market vendors, persuasion, haggling, snakes, spices, food, monkeys, sweets, omnipresent chaos and typical smell

Casablanca

We took the train to Casablanca for about 3-4 hours. An experience in itself, especially the smell. Casablanca is already more European, big buildings, international brands. better infrastructure.

Rabat - Maroccos´s capital city, I like it the least, however, worth visiting once you´re in Marocco
